Description: | Fauré: Requiem Vaughan Williams: Dona Nobis Pacem Brahms: ‘Tragische’ Overture In our current troubled times, what could be more powerful than Vaughan Williams’ impassioned plea for peace - his Dona Nobis Pacem? Inspired by his personal experience of the horrors of WW1, he wrote this in the late 1930s as conflict loomed once again. There'll also be the gentle and reflective Fauré Requiem – the composer's very personal prayer for those who have died. Guildford Choral will be joined by Southern Pro Musica, conductor Jonathan Willcocks, and soloists Charlotte Bowden (soprano) and Thomas Niesser (baritone).
